I have a sweet tooth, honestly I do! Just because I am vegan, many think I don’t (or can’t) enjoy some seriously awesome desserts. But I can, AND I DO <3 <3 <3
You will be surprised how many amazing desserts you can transform into a healthy plant based option and this little pink number is a perfect example. I really try to keep balance, everything in moderation as my granny use to say. I don’t always get that right but having healthy (and tasty ) alternatives definitely helps with that.
In the early days when I use to compete, it was SO extreme with the dieting that there was never this happy balance. Either it was crazy clean or ridiculously unhealthy. It was only later that I realized you can achieve amazing health AND body with moderation…..still enjoying delicious foods that not only satisfy the taste-buds but actually bring benefits to your body and health as well!
This Cinnamon Strawberry Ice-cream is simple and easy to make but the catch is that you have to use frozen fruit and make it just before you serve it. The added protein is optional HOWEVER it does give the recipe extra health benefits and will satisfy all the protein “addicts” out there ? ? Along with that, it is high in antioxidants, fibre, potassium and magnesium!
INGREDIENTS (makes 2 servings)
– 2 large frozen bananas
– 6 large frozen strawberries
– 1/2 cup coconut cream
– 40g Hemp Protein Powder from Synerchi Organics
Throw all these ingredients into a powerful blender and whiz up. A little almond or coconut milk can be added if you are struggling to get the fruit blended. Spoon into dessert bowls and finish off with some fresh or frozen berries. The desserts bowls can be placed in the freezer for max 20min to help with serving if you choose this for a dinner party.
